UNC Anthropology Colloquium Series: Deb Thomas

March 27 @ 3:35 pm

On March 27th, Dr. Thomas will join us from 3:30-5:00 in Alumni 308 for a pedagogical talk and workshop entitled “Decolonizing Introduction to Cultural Anthropology,” in which she will share the model used at the University of Pennsylvania for decolonizing their “Introduction to Cultural Anthropology” course. We are excited to think with her about approaches to revising our undergraduate introductory courses here at UNC.

Dr. Thomas will be giving a public talk entitled “Embodied Knowledge and Modes of Repair” in the Sonja Haynes Stone Center, Hitchcock Room from 11:15-12:15. This talk is part of the UNC Department of African, African American, & Diaspora Studies Spring 2024 Colloquium Series and co-sponsored by the UNC Anthropology Department’s Race, Difference, and Power concentration.
