Departmental Financial Assistance
If you choose, you will be considered for graduate teaching assistantships awarded by the Department of Anthropology. The department receives a number of year-long or one-semester teaching assistant positions. These normally carry a stipend of approximately $20,000 per year for 15 hours a week of work. Students receiving assistantships have their instate tuition, fees and health insurance covered. Students may serve as a Teaching Assistant for 5 years or 10 semesters. If more funding is needed after those 10 semesters, students can apply for additional funding to serve as a TA/RA, but it will be based on the needs of the department.
The department has academic funds sufficient to support a majority of our students, but not all. Some worthy applicants may have to rely on personal funds, loans, or outside employment.
For questions, please contact our department’s Student Services Manager.
