Departmental Financial Assistance
If you choose, you will be considered for graduate and teaching assistantships awarded by the Department of Anthropology and the Research Laboratories of Archaeology. The department receives a number of year-long or one-semester teaching assistant positions. These normally carry a stipend of approximately $15,700 per year for 15 hours a week of work. In most cases, students receiving assistantships have their tuition covered. Most of these awards are allotted to students in their first three years of study. They are distributed annually among incoming and continuing students on a competitive basis.
The department has academic funds sufficient to support a majority of our students, but not all. Some worthy applicants may have to rely on personal funds, loans, or outside employment.
For questions, please contact our department’s Student Services Manager.
