Achievements by our students and student/faculty partnerships:

  • Sugandh Gupta has been awarded the Taraknath Das Foundation Fellowship through Columbia University in support of her doctoral dissertation research in Jammu, India ($5,000).
  • Senior Anth Major William Brinson and Anna Agbe-Davies have been awarded an IAH/Honors Collaboration Grant ($2000 student stipend) for their project “Race, Gender, and Identity in ‘Jane Crow’ Era America via Analysis of Archaeological Data from the Pauli Murray Family Home”

Achievements by our faculty:

  • Silvia Tomaskova was named the Druscilla French Distinguished Professorship of Women’s and Gender Studies
  • Anna Agbe-Davies has been named a 2019-2020 Fulbright U.S. Scholar. She will be spending the academic year in Norway and will be based in Oslo.
  • Fairies, Demons, and Nature Spirits ‘Small Gods’ at the Margins of Christendom (Palgrave 2018) in which Lorraine Aragon has a chapter was shortlisted for the 2018 Katharine Briggs Folklore Award.
  • Peter Redfield has been invited to give the 2019 Elizabeth Colson Lecture at the University of Oxford.
