This semester Angela Stuesse had some success securing internal research support, including a Junior Faculty Development Award, a University Research Council Grant, and a CFE Research Communication Grant to support her new book project, #FreeDany: Dreaming & Detention in Trump’s America; a Humanities for the Public Good Critical Issues Project Fund Award to support a semester of public dialogue and learning about the lives of the undocumented on our campus and in our community; and an ISA Mellon Conference Travel Award and CGI Conference Presentation Award for participation in the 2018 Latin American Studies Association conference, where she has organized a day-long pre-conference for the Otros Saberes section.  She was also named an alternate for the IAH Faculty Fellowship and was nominated by the college to represent UNC in the Whiting Public Engagement Fellowship competition.
