Lauren Nareau received a Wenner-Gren Dissertation fieldwork Grant, as well as the Summer Research Fellowship from the Graduate School for her research in Cuba.
Sugandh Gupta was awarded three fellowships for her summer fieldwork project, “Experiencing Addiction and Dependency among Youth in Jammu, India”: the Society for Psychological Anthropology/Robert Lemelson Fellowship; the Center for Global Initiatives Pre-Dissertation Award; and a Graduate School Summer Research Fellowship
Maia Dedrick has received a summer grant from UNC’s Center for Global Initiatives.
Alfredo Rojas received two grants for summer research: one from the West African Research Association and another from UNC’s Center for Global Initiatives.
Anna Graham received a summer research grant from the graduate school.
The following first year graduate students have also received the Anthropology summer Kupferer Award to aid in research.
