Collaborative Strategies for Heritage

Dr. Iván Batún Alpuche, an archaeologist and Yucatec Mayan, holds a PhD in  Anthropology from the University of Florida. Currently, he is a Director at  SEDESOL-Yucatán (Secretaría de Desarrollo Social), a government development agency, and is adjunct professor in Anthropology at UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Batún is particularly interested in collaborative strategies that empower local Mayan peoples and provide opportunities for active engagement with heritage conservation.
