Professional Background

Moriah is a graduate from the University of Maryland where she researched race and heritage and worked in archaeology labs. After graduating from UMD in 2018 with a BA in Anthropology, she worked in museums such as the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture (NMAAHC) and the Prince George’s African American Museum & Cultural Center.

Moriah is currently working on an oral history project in a previously-all Black neighborhood in northern Virginia. Her future doctoral research will seek to analyze the Black upper class and Black elite identity formation.
