My research concerns the use of mortuary ritual in community-building efforts, human osteology, paleopathology, bioarchaeology, and materiality. I am currently trying my hand at tying these topics together for a dissertation on Archaic period (10,000 – 3,000 B.P.) hunter-gatherer communities in the Middle Tennessee River Valley of northern Alabama.
