Achievements by our current and former graduate students:

Sierra Roark was awarded an Oak Spring Garden Foundation residency.

Cayla Colclasure passed exams and is ABD.

Andie Zurek-Ost received a Timothy P. Mooney Travel Award to assist with travel to the AABA conference in April, will present research at the AAFS annual meeting in Orlando next week, has received a $9,300 grant from the Core Facility Advocacy Committee and Office of Research Technologies (part of the UNC-CH School of Medicine) for archaeological proteomics research, and has an upcoming chapter in Clark Spencer Larsen’s A Companion to Biological Anthropology (2nd edition) on Taphonomy and Biological Anthropology.

Parag Jyoti Saikia has been selected to join the Contributing Editors program in Society for Cultural Anthropology (SCA). He has also joined the Social Media Team, which is responsible for managing SCA’s Twitter and Facebook presence. Contributing Editor profile page:

Rosemary Gay has been accepted to National Science Foundation Cultural Anthropology Methods Program (NSF CAMP) for methods training in summer 2023.

Colleen Betti has been hired as a project archaeologist with Dovetail Cultural Resource Group.
