Bryan Dougan just received  the 2016 Royal Air Morocco-ASA Student Travel Award through the African Studies Association.

On Monday November 28, 2016, Malena Rousseau successfully defended her dissertation, “Seeking Buen Vivir: Re-imagining Livelihoods in the Shifting Political Economic Landscape of Cangahua, Ecuador”

Barker  Farris, PhD from the department, just accepted a job as State archaeologist for the island of Maui.

Anna Semon has been appointed Lab Director of the Nels Nelson North American Archaeology Lab at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. This is a permanent position.

Science (25 Nov.) has a review of Buchbinder, Rivkin-Fish, and Walker’s Understanding Health Inequalities and Justice.
