August 23, 2024 University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Department of Anthropology Professor and Chair, Amanda Thompson, PhD, MPH, was named a recipient of the Thomas Willis Lambeth Distinguished Chair in Public Policy. The endowed chair recognizes scholars whose work demonstrates the value of public service, explores collaborative efforts with students and participating schools, and contributes to public policy in North Carolina and beyond. This distinguished professorship, which honors outstanding teachers in public policy, is funded by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.

 

Five recipients received the endowed chair:

 

Dr. F. Joel Fodrie, Professor in the Department of Earth, Marine, and Environmental Sciences

Dr. Mark Holmes, Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management

Dr. Jeff Hoopes, Associate Professor in the Kenan-Flagler Business School

Dr. Cynthia Fraga Rizo, Associate Professor in the School of Social Work
