Students in the First-Year Seminar “Race, Racialization, and Blackness,” visited as a part of the course content the International Civil Rights Center & Museum and the Beloved Community Center, both in Greensboro, NC, on March 23, 2019. An Anthropology Department staff person and a graduate student also took part. The First-Year students explored issues of race in terms of justice, policies, institutions, and systems through the museum exhibits. They then joined the Beloved Community Center to learn from veteran and new Civil Rights and Social Justice organizers in Greensboro.
