Research Interests:  Historical anthropology–archaeology, ethnohistory, historical demography;  Celtic studies–relationship between archaeology and literature; Monasticism in medieval France–issues of gender and land-use;  Early Modern studies of gender and family, agriculture, climate and land-use in Burgundy, France.  Gender and family studies in 19^th-century America.
