Claire Novotny has accepted a tenure track Assistant Professor Position at Kenyon College.

Ariel Cascio has accepted a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Neuroethics Research Unit of the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal and will begin her new position in May 2016.

Anna Agbe-Davies has been awarded a Service-Learning Course Development Grant from the APPLES Service-Learning program and the Carolina Center for Public Service.

Lorraine Aragon has been awarded an American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) 2016-17 Fellowship for the project titled Partial Enclosures: Copyright, Creativity, and Traditional Cultural Expressions in Southeast Asia. 

Terry Evens’ new edited book, Reflecting on Reflexivity: The Human Condition as an Ontological Surprise (with Don Handelman and Christopher Roberts has just come out from Berghahn Press.

 

Graduate Student Awards

Lisa Nebie has been award a Borlaug LEAP Fellowship.

Kailey Rocker received a Summer FLAS for improving her Albanian language skills

Samantha King has been awarded a Pre-dissertation Field Research Grant from the Institute for the Study of the Americas and the Center for Global Initiative

Bryan Dougan has been awarded both a summer FLAS and an academic year FLAS to study Swahili.

Ampson Hagan has been awarded a summer FLAS to study Hausa, and an academic year FLAS to study Arabic.  He has also won a Saharan Crossroads Fellowship from the Council of American Overseas Research Centers to study trans-Saharan migration this summer.
